Team NINJA has published the survey results from the alpha demo of Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember, including its worst score: 50.5% of PC respondents rated the game’s optimisation negatively. The studio’s feedback report, posted on 23 October 2026, pairs the numbers with a list of planned fixes. The demo ran from 16 to 30 September and let players fight through the Changban open field alongside Liu Bei’s forces, 4Gamer reports. The game, a sequel to Koei Tecmo’s 2023 Three Kingdoms action game, launches on 4 March 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC, according to the official site.

71.9% positive overall, 50.5% negative on PC optimisation

The report gives the share of positive, average and negative answers for each survey question, but not how many people responded. Selected results:

  • Overall: 71.9% positive, 11.1% negative
  • Changban field: 73.9% positive, the best score in the survey
  • Music and sound: 71.7% positive
  • Ougi actions, the sequel’s new counter system: 65.7% positive, 14.7% negative
  • Graphics: 49.7% positive, 19.8% negative
  • Optimisation: 24.8% positive, 50.5% negative. Only players on Xbox on PC or Steam answered this question.

Weapon preferences were also published. The straight sword was used by 58.3% of respondents, ahead of the two-section staff at 40.7% and the staff at 32.8%.

Fixes for performance, graphics and Ougi counters

Team NINJA names three priorities: action, optimisation and graphics. The planned changes are specific:

  • Performance: steadier frame rates, fixes for crashes, shorter loading on fast travel and retries, and less pop-in of distant models during combat and traversal.
  • Graphics: better model textures and distant models through optimisation, improved lighting indoors and in dark areas, and adjusted brightness of demonic-qi and fire effects so the action stays readable.
  • Ougi: two separate Ougi moves against enemy special attacks will merge into one that changes with the enemy’s state. The success windows for deflects and Ougi will be wider, and a successful Ougi will now restore Kisei, the spirit gauge that fuels attacks and defence.
  • Kisei balance: heavy attacks and martial arts will drain more of an enemy’s gauge, and heavy attacks that follow longer light-attack strings will hit harder, so players can afford to stay aggressive.
  • Everything else: better homing on aerial attacks, flying enemies that no longer drift out of reach, clearer warnings for enemy special attacks, more tutorials, a better map, more key-binding options, and saved progress plus steadier matchmaking in co-op.

What the report does not promise

Each criticism in the survey has a matching line item, and the worst score is published rather than hidden. But the report promises stability work without saying how much will be solved by launch, and it gives no performance targets or minimum specifications. Players who finished the alpha should keep their save data: the report says a clear save from the demo is needed to claim a reward in the full game.
