Colorful Palette, the Tokyo company that co-develops the rhythm game Project SEKAI COLORFUL STAGE! feat. Hatsune Miku with SEGA, announced on 31 October 2026 that it has set up LATENT ONE Inc., a subsidiary for planning, producing and making animation, AUTOMATON reports. LATENT ONE’s official website lists its founding as October 2026, its capital as 50 million yen and its office in the same Meguro, Tokyo tower as its parent.
The studio’s first work went out the same day: a 2D animated music video for “Emerald”, the song for Project Sekai‘s sixth anniversary, written and composed by Tatsuya Kitani, Den Fami Nico Gamer reports. The credits on LATENT ONE’s website include a colour designer from WIT STUDIO, with CG produced by Stimulus Image.
Riku Tsukada, a Colorful Palette director, leads the new company as representative director. Colorful Palette’s own representative director, Yuichiro Kondo, and one of its executive officers sit on the board. LATENT ONE says it will make animated music videos as well as original works, and describes its mission as continuing to deliver, by new means, the animation that becomes a viewer’s best ever. Its recruitment page is marked “coming soon”; it has not disclosed its headcount or named any original project.
Colorful Palette belongs to the CyberAgent group. LATENT ONE is its second spin-off. In June 2024 it founded Colorful Palette ENCORE to plan and produce live concerts, drawing on its experience with Project Sekai, and to take outside 3DCG work. LATENT ONE adds animation to that in-house line-up, starting with the game’s own anniversary video.
