Gran Turismo 7’s free Spec IV Part 1 update went live on 15 October 2026, adding Japan’s Sportsland Sugo circuit and six cars. Sony announced it on the PlayStation Blog on 14 October, with release at 7:00 BST / 15:00 JST on 15 October (23:00 PDT on 14 October). The update is free for all players and needs an internet connection. The same post gave a first look at a limited-edition DualSense controller marking 30 years of Gran Turismo.
Sugo first, Autumn Ring in December
Sportsland Sugo is a real circuit in Miyagi Prefecture, northern Japan, which the PlayStation Blog calls the “legendary Sugo Circuit”. When Polyphony Digital announced Spec IV in early September, it said the free update would come in two parts, Part 1 in October and Part 2 in December, with 12 new cars in total. Sugo would arrive first, and the classic Autumn Ring would return in Part 2, PlayStation Universe reported on 3 September. Sony has not yet detailed Part 2 beyond that plan. Gran Turismo 7 launched in 2022, so Polyphony is still adding large free updates four years later.
Six cars, from a 2CV to a Xiaomi concept
Part 1 adds six cars, sold through different parts of the game:
- Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo (Brand Central);
- Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo ’26 (Brand Central);
- Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line ’23 (Brand Central);
- Ferrari F355 Berlinetta ’94 (Used Cars);
- Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston ’86 (Used Cars);
- Honda Civic Si Group A version ’87 (Legend Cars).
The Xiaomi car is a Vision Gran Turismo design, a concept made for the game rather than a production model. Vehicles are bought with in-game credits, which can be earned by playing or bought with real money.
Sony also lists an Experience mode, new Car Viewer features, six new World Circuit events, more Sunday Cup events, a Vision Gran Turismo Trophy event and new Scapes locations.
The 30th-anniversary DualSense
The DualSense Wireless Controller – Gran Turismo Limited Edition has racing stripes, motorsport-inspired graphics and a textured front plate that imitates carbon fibre. It will be made in limited quantities worldwide.
