Neos will release its two Crayon Shin-chan adventure games on Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 4 March 2027, the Japanese publisher’s parent company, Tecmira Holdings, announced on 13 October 2026 in a press release on PR TIMES (in Japanese).

  • Shin-chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation came out in 2021 on Switch, PS4 and PC. It is a nostalgic summer holiday in the countryside town of Asso, with bug catching, fishing and dinosaur battles.
  • Shin-chan: Shiro and the Coal Town followed in 2024 on Switch and Steam. It moves between a village in Akita and a mysterious coal-mining town, and adds customisable trolley races.

According to the release, the series has passed 1.1 million units shipped, including digital sales, as of September 2026.

60fps, mouse controls and up to nine text languages

Both Switch 2 versions add mouse controls, 60fps, higher resolution, a save-anywhere feature and an updated control guide, according to the release and 4Gamer. Text and voice language can be switched per game. Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation lists nine text languages: Japanese, English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and two variants of Traditional Chinese, for Taiwan and Hong Kong. Shiro and the Coal Town has the same list without Portuguese. Voice options for both are Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Cantonese; no English voice track is listed.

One cartridge in Asia and the West

  • Asia physical 2-in-1: both games on a single game card, sold in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. The price in Japan is 9,900 yen including tax. First prints include a sheet of puffy stickers and a special sleeve.
  • Western physical 2-in-1: sold by Clear River Games through its online shop at $59.99 / €49.99, with a reversible cover and a booklet.
  • Digital: available worldwide. Japanese prices are 6,580 yen for Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation, 6,980 yen for Shiro and the Coal Town, and 9,900 yen for a bundle of both. Neos says prices for other regions are on its official site.

Physical pre-orders opened on announcement day. Owners of the Switch download versions will get a discount on the Switch 2 version of the same game, but neither the press release nor 4Gamer gives the size of the discount or how long it lasts, and 4Gamer describes it as planned.
