Com2uS revealed Destiny Child: Assemble on 27 October, an idle RPG built on Shift Up’s Destiny Child, and set it for a worldwide release on iOS and Android in the first half of 2027, GameVU reported from the company’s announcement. A teaser site opened the same day in English, Korean and Japanese.
Com2uS subsidiary Tikitaka Studio is developing the game, and Com2uS will run it globally. The new game keeps the original’s scenario and world, including its main and side stories, and adds new ones; each character’s story unfolds as players collect and raise them. Battles and progression run on an idle system to lighten the daily play load, iNews24 reported. Com2uS says the subtitle refers to the Demon Lord candidates, the original’s name for its players, gathering again. The teaser shows the revival flower, a sacred object in the original that restores life, coming into bloom. Com2uS also plans to post four-panel comics about the project’s development on its official X account.
The announcement lands exactly ten years after Destiny Child launched in South Korea on 27 October 2016. It was Shift Up’s first game, built around character art by Kim Hyung-tae, Live2D animation and more than 500 characters, and it topped both the App Store and Google Play grossing charts within five days, according to GameVU. It reached Japan on 24 November 2017, and Com2uS Japan carried this week’s announcement there, AUTOMATON reported. The original shut down in Korea and overseas on 21 September 2023 after about seven years, leaving only a memorial mode for revisiting characters and stories. Com2uS has not shown gameplay footage or a pre-registration date yet, but its Korean teaser image already carries the label “includes probability-based items”, the Korean notice for games that sell randomised items.
